Book Review: Inside the House of Money

Recently, by some inspiration, I went to the library to try my luck.

When I was in the financial advisory industry, I tried my best not to read too many books.
Why? Because I love books. I will spend so much time reading that I neglect my sales.

Further, with an Engineering background, I believed that I should apply what I learn, not what the theory is!
So I always ensure what I read, I digest first, before I proceed with another book.

That ends up with 1-3 books a Year. Hardly prolific. But digestable.

Back to the first financial book i touched since I left 6 months ago!

Excellent luck. The first few chapters have already captured my attention.
This book is "Inside the House of Money" by Steven Drobny.

This book is suitable for Advisors who
a) Manage Client's Monies
b) Sell Hedge Funds

Well, you got to know what you sell or produce right?
It is really a book on Global Macro techniques used by Hedge Fund Managers. The first few chapter deals with what is a Global Macro Strategy.

This book is written in the same style as the "Market Wizards" series, where the Author interviews the solid Fund Managers. Well, in order to read this book, you got to be in those group of guys who believe that alpha returns can be generated above market norms because skill is applicable in the market place.

I have not really completed the book, but I recommend you to read since you can probably finish before I do!

Hopefully I can update the blog when I am done with the book!
