About Me!

I am a "retired" financial advisor in Singapore. Well, legally I was called a financial advisory representative. After 9 years in the business of financial advisory, I decided to hang up my mouth & pen, and put my brains to waste.

I had an engineering degree from local Singapore university, Nanyang and went on to do some logistics in my early career. Disappointed from how it looks like in the Corporate World, I chanced upon the financial advisory business and decided to join the industry. After 9 years, I am now freed from the compliance requirements in August 2012 and thought it would be a good way to start 2013 by blogging away some of the stuff that have been with me these years.

I had a few articles published by the press & publications before. I am glad they did, because it gave me some confidence that I am not really bullshitting around. I even had one article published on the industry's magazine.

I had some "serious" emotional issues which motivates me to write about this.
Number 1 is that my engineering background seems to suppose to prevent me from being able to communicate effectively.
Number 2 is that I have a family member who is absolutely superbly able to write till the point where he tells people what to write. So I suppose I should be able to.

Financial topics are really tough. They invoke the Heavens and the Earth. It divides and then divides some more. Some of you may completely disagree with me. In my 9 years, I rather you disagree, go on and find your own path. There are too many factors in place for financial success that small degrees makes a lot of difference!

I love to be quoted. I love to come up with tacky lines. So if you do like to quote me, please do credit me.
After all, a blog is about a person. You can just count how many times I mentioned "I" in this page.

As I have left the industry, some of my information may not be up to date anymore. Back in my days in the industry, I function on many occasions to my peers as the "Google". They just "Google" me to find the ideas they need to help their clients with. What I normally get in return are ideas they share in return with me. I hope if you are within the industry or just someone keen on your personal finance, you can share some inputs to me. Together we can make this...nah, not a Better World... but just more Fun!
